Slater Menswear at Crystal House

Preston, Lancashire

Through a change of use the scheme brought back into use the first and second floor plates of the podium that had formerly been used for offices. The floor plates required structural enhancement to their underside and new stair and lift cores were constructed within the existing concrete frame to connect each floor to street level independently. The second floor was pre-let to Slater Menswear and the first floor prepped for subsequent letting to Cotswold Outdoors. The original precast concrete panels and external envelope were removed and replaced with a ceramic rainscreen and metal wall construction.
